Open Positions for 2014-2015
Dear Tuscola CUSD #301 students, parents, community members, and alumni:
It is with great pride that I once again welcome everyone to a new school year. I say this every year, but it’s hard to believe we are days away from the start of the 2014-2015 year.
This is my fourth year with the district and it continues to be an honor and a privilege for me to serve as Superintendent of Tuscola schools.
On August 15, over 1,000 students, from preschool thru 12th grade, will walk through the doors of North Ward, East Prairie, and Tuscola High School.
In doing so, they will once again be taking advantage of the wonderful educational opportunities provided by the taxpayers of this community.
The Tuscola school district excels above many others because our parents, teachers, staff, and community do a wonderful job of supporting our students and setting high expectations.
I truly believe these high expectations are the secret to success in the education of young people.
I also believe our school board and staff are continuing to do a very good job in the area of school finance. This district has made great strides in our financial situation and we will continue to make this a priority.
Because of our good fortune in receiving first the City Tax and now the Douglas County Sales Tax, the community will continue to see improvements to the district’s three school buildings.
It seems updates and improvements are happening on almost a daily basis.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone for their continued support of our students and school district.
From the City Council to Tuscola Rotary and Kiwanis to Mrs. Fortney to the Davidson Family and Carly McCrory we are constantly overwhelmed by groups and citizens who want to help us here at school.
Without all of you, we would not be able to reach the high level of success that is achieved consistently by the Tuscola School District.
